The proposed project at 400 Healdsburg Avenue will be a very small boutique hotel with a total of 16 rooms. The units will offer longer stay opportunities for larger groups such as families or traveling friends, helping to make the economic impact of each stay larger and more varied.
Along with the guestrooms, the hotel will include a reception lobby, at-grade entry courtyard, semi enclosed public plaza, podium courtyard and pool area, restaurant, and street-level micro retail. The on-site parking garage will accommodate spaces for 34 cars, with valet service, provided by a parking lift system (similar to the Harmon Guest House).
Above the podium, the massing of the building has been broken down into 3 smaller masses. The three volumes will each be treated differently in both materiality and articulation to ensure smaller scale buildings and create a rhythm along Healdsburg Ave. The materials reference the local natural palette and rely on naturally sustainable materials. A key feature of the building will be a living vine façade, fully watered by reclaimed water, which will help to soften the building’s massing.
